Nov 4, 2021. #7. VW's temperature gauges are notoriously inaccurate. If your car was mine, I would do two things. 1 buy a scangauge or similar scanner and get the temp reading directly from the ecu. 2 buy an inexpensive IR thermometer and take the engine temp at the upper rad hose when you suspect it is overheating.
SOURCE: engine cutting out when idling or slowing down Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues
When the car (an automatic) is engaged in gear (reverse or drive) AT IDLE (foot on brake) the car shakes A LOT. The reason it is noticed in automatics, is that the auto engages the car and we are only holding the brake which means there is torque transmitted to the CV axle and ultimately into the CV joint.

The market seems like a loaded minefield. I have always liked VW Polo's and spotted a 2013 Polo 1.2 TDI Bluemotion (which seems like a good buy in the current fuel price climate) for R140k, 100k
It's turning over but it just refuses to start.eventually if you keep trying, it will start, but it can take anywhere from 5 minutes, to (as i found out today) half an hour, to get it started. I've checked all the obvious things: fuel pump is working fuel is going through the fuel filter. its had a new starter motor.
Re: Polo Bluemotion TDI injector failure. by Kavi4GP » Mon Oct 06, 2014 2:33 pm. Report it again and ask for full ecu report if there was a problem it would have been noted by either the injection or exhaust sensors. Failure of new age injectors are not usual for such low mileage. Sent from iPad using Tapatalk. Current:
–Engine’s drive belts may be broken or slipping. –There may be a leak in the cooling system. –The electric cooling fan may not be coming on. –The ignition timing may be set wrong. –The engine may have mechanical problems. –2007 Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion 1.4 TDI is over loaded or driven too hard.
